I suppose I’ll start with a confession.
This isn’t my first blog. It’s not even my second. I’m hoping, however, that it’s my last. I’ve struggled with consistency in the past with things like this. Keeping journals, travel blogs, etc.
But no more!
I’ve been asked for a website or social media link a handful of different times in the last week, so I suppose it’s time to begin and commit. I’m confident that I can, this time, because I now have a focus and it’s one I’m passionate about.
I love to talk about writing, reading and whatever inspires me. I’m never so passionate as when I’m discussing music or films, the arts and artists.
So, to whomsoever is reading this I make a promise: I will stay up to date as much as my capabilities allow.
See how I made room for my old habits to creep in again? Shameful. There’s a difference this time though – I have a new focus and I’m excited to do this one. Previous iterations felt like a chore, this one doesn’t.
Here is what I’m hoping to get out of this blog:
- A place to make bullet point lists.
- Writing posts to get the wheels yanked out of inertia and humming.
- To talk about some things that I normally don’t get to discuss. You know, stuff and things.
- To chronicle my journey as a writer. That one came with a wince and cringe, but I’m leaving it in!
- A place for people to find me. This is my SOS written in sticks on a beach. Notice me. Love me. Worship me. Please!
What I’m hoping you get out of this blog:
- Bullet point lists.
- Something interesting, or at least a chuckle.
- Updates on what I’m working on at the moment.
- Reading recommendations. These will come fast and furious, so grab a pen and paper.
- A place to discover something new that you might not have otherwise heard of. Be it my work or something else entirely. But preferably the former.
Well there you have it. With expectations all laid out like that it doesn’t seem so daunting a task now, does it? Stick with me and I promise I’ll find you something you’ll love.
