With all of the work that I’ve been putting into The Foundling’s Tale, I haven’t been submitting anything to publishers. I had been feeling a bit guilty about it. I’ve been working with the spectacular Katherine Fawcett to keep me at my maximum productivity over the summer, before my firstborn arrives and I go back to teaching. She has provided me with the drive to get an incredible amount accomplished, but as a writer there just isn’t anything like getting a story or poem published. Or so I thought.
In rapid succession I received an invitation to have my poem “Letter to a Brother on a Generation Ship” included in Stephen Kotowych‘s Year’s Best Canadian Fantasy and Science Fiction: Volume Two. Seeing my name included with authors I have admired for years is such an incredible honour. Massive thanks to Stephen Kotowych for appreciating my tremendously bleak poem. Check out his announcement!
Less than a week later, another of my poems was nominated for a Best of the Web! My poem “Pollutours Trash Island Excursions: $349.99” was chosen by DarkWinter Lit and I am so honoured by both. I am so grateful to both Stephen Kotowych and DarkWinter Lit for their recognition. Now, back to the manuscript!

Glad to hear you are enjoying your creative pursuits and having such success and acclaim. Good way to spend a summer at home!
